Welcome to “Simply Suzy” as in simplysuzy.com.
I was born, Lila Susan Perry, the fifth child of six, first of two girls, to the parents Carlene and Beecher Perry. My siblings, from oldest to youngest are Charles, Douglas, Don, Dennis, and Becky. We lived in Milton, TN, a small middle TN community. My education began in a two teacher school in Milton which I attended through fourth grade. Having lost 96% of my vision in second grade, my entrance into fifth grade at the TN School for the Blind was a major turning point. Here I learned not only to “Write-Reading”, but to “Read-Writing”, print no longer being a reliable source. Because of the accessibility of music lessons, Daddy bought a big used upright piano which took up a big part of the living room. It was loud, but had a great touch. He would say that he could always tell if I was sad, mad or happy by the way I played. Mama said all my songs sounded about the same, guess that was because they were all played in the key of C. . . My ego was not inflated from excessive praise, but thankfully, they were tolerant. Living in the country with no close neighbors was a major plus.
Now, a digital piano with headsets keeps me from “disturbing the peace”. .

Following college, I worked as a Rehab Teacher for twelve years, with an eleven year Break, midway, as a full time Mom to twins, son—Shawn and daughter—Dawn. No, the rhyming names weren’t intentional, but they aren’t convinced.
Twelve more years were spent working in the TN Business Enterprises, which necessitated moving eastward to Chattanooga, and then Knoxville. Retiring early, it was soon time to move back to Murfreesboro where I had lived since beginning college.

So, now this has led to this site where you can listen to some piano playing complete with the extras…mistakes for authenticity.
Remember, it’s easier to exit than enter.
